Water Works by Cescaphe Proposal | Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

In January of 2020, Ryan reached out to me over Instagram about capturing his proposal to his girlfriend, Olivia. Ryan and I immediately began planning the perfect proposal, and I was ecstatic to help him make it memorable! Ryan and I had a secret phone call to discuss his vision of the proposal, and together, we mapped out a plan of action. The anticipation was growing more and more to pull off this extravagant surprise for Olivia.

But of course, as much else within the 2020 year, our grand plans came to a screeching halt. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the proposal… but the excitement remained.

After weeks of consideration and coming up with creative and safe alternative ideas, Ryan decided he simply could not wait any longer. No matter the circumstances, he knew he had to ask Olivia to spend forever with him. This. made. me. swoon! Marriage is all about being there for each other, through high highs and low lows. Even when it feels like the world has stopped spinning.

We realized that love could not be canceled.

To move things along, I reached out to Olivia. She is an extremely talented artist and owns Avoir le Chic. Olivia hand-paints custom, unique bridal designs using champagne bottles as her canvas. Her work is beautiful! So, I asked her if I could take photos of her champagne bottle artwork in the city. She actually offered to paint an entirely new design featuring iconic Philadelphia landmarks for this shoot (which worked out perfectly!). Meanwhile, Ryan clued Olivia’s mom in on his proposal at Water Works by Cescaphe plan. She encouraged Olivia to write the date on the bottle showcasing what Avoir le Chic does for its wedding clients.

Little did Olivia know that she was designing a keepsake bottle to celebrate and commemorate one of the best days of her life.

Coincidentally, a few days before the proposal, Olivia asked me if her boyfriend Ryan could come along to the photoshoot. I said, “Sure, why not!? We can have him hop in a few pictures too if you’d like!” She excitedly agreed, and everything fell perfectly into place just like that.

After months of planning and anticipation, it was all so worth it. The proposal turned out to be absolute magic.

To say Olivia was surprised would be an understatement! She literally fell to her knees, and it was the absolute sweetest moment. Olivia and Ryan were on cloud nine for the rest of their engagement session, and it melted my heart! The three of us were laughing, crying, and shaking with thrill.

Olivia kept saying that she couldn’t believe that we managed to pull off the biggest and best surprise of her life.

To make the proposal story even more magical, it happened to take place on a special day. Olivia’s father had sadly passed away recently. Since his passing, he would send Olivia signs of his presence and everlasting love through repeated numbers. Olivia and Ryan became engaged on 04.04.2020, with Olivia’s daddy surely watching over them with approval and enthusiasm. It could not have been a more memorable and meaningful proposal and engagement session.

Olivia and Ryan are truly the perfect pair. It was such a joy and honor to capture this milestone for them!
