With so many 2020 wedding postponements and shoot cancellations due to the pandemic, I decided I needed to work on a creative project to fuel my inspiration. To get things going, I reached out to one of the most talented wedding planners I know, Katie, who owns That’s Darling Events. I shared with her the ideas I’d been dreaming up for a spring wedding, and she took all those ideas and ran! Katie created a stunning mood board with visuals from dress ideas to floral inspiration and more, and then helped me find the perfect vendor team to bring our Ballroom at Ellis Preserve Spring Wedding vision to life.
Because COVID-19 forced so many spring of 2020 couples to rethink their wedding celebrations, we decided to style this wedding shoot for the springtime with bright pastels and neutral colors. All of us collaborators desired the spring season’s romantic and elegant feel and wanted to incorporate its blooms and warmth. This was so exciting for everyone involved as we were able to envision what it will be like to be back in wedding action and surrounded by so much love from our couples!
We chose the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve as the venue because of its classic architecture and bright interior. The tall columns reminded me of the Pantheon in Rome, and you know I love anything travel-inspired! Everyone at the venue was so generous and personable, making it such an easy and enjoyable experience to shoot there.
The pastel neutrals we incorporated into the color palette created a soft feeling of intimacy and luxury for this spring-styled wedding editorial. If you are ever unsure about choosing your wedding colors, pastels and neutrals are always flattering no matter the location or season! To add to the romantic touches, Tides Crossing offered beautiful vintage furniture pieces and decor. The soft, intimate vibe for this Ballroom at Ellis Preserve Spring Wedding shoot also translated effortlessly into the attire of the couple. The bride’s La Bella Moda dress featured a tulle skirt, which allowed for movement while offering a romantic feel. For the groom, you can never go wrong with a classic black tux and bow tie. They looked so classic and elegant together.
To create a wow factor and bring the spring season even further into this Ballroom at Ellis Preserve Spring Wedding inspiration shoot, Nicol Floral Design displayed one of her impressive floral walls. While stunning bouquets and tabletop arrangements are typical at weddings, the flower wall was a unique touch that was eye-catching immediately when you walked into the room. Flower walls are perfect for weddings to say your vows in front of, place behind the head table, or even as a backdrop for guests to take pictures during the reception. The options are endless.
Overall, this inspiring Spring Ballroom at Ellis Preserve Wedding editorial was so exciting to be part of. It was truly breathtaking and beautiful how the entire team came together with various areas of expertise to create a gorgeous day from nothing. Thanks to all of the wonderful vendors who contributed, the shoot was successful, the day was unbelievably amazing, and I was privileged to capture it! I felt honored to be part of such an incredible artistic team — there is no way I could do my job without all of them. Each and every single person put in so much hard work, time, and talent to make this inspirational shoot happen. I can’t wait for you to see the images below!
