San Juan, Puerto Rico Vacation | Destination Wedding Photographer

It all started on a wine-drunken, chilly December night. We all know 2020 was a doozy, but even still, I had worked my butt off the entire year, and I was in need of a getaway. So, I googled cheap flights, and within minutes, I was booked for a vacation in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I know what you might be thinking: In the middle of a pandemic? A bit risquĂ©, isn’t it? Well, I did my research and followed all safety and health protocols before, during, and after the vacation. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by just how seriously COVID-19 was taken in San Juan! Despite the 85 degree weather, even runners were wearing masks. Everyone was socially distant, and not only were the number of customers limited in every restaurant and shop, but upon entry, you had your temperature taken while using the provided hand sanitizer. On most trips, I would take note of each specific activity, the individual locations, the restaurant names, etc. but this trip was different. It was about true peace and relaxation, no distractions, no note-taking. I’m so happy to say that this trip to San Juan was exactly what my heart needed. The sunshine, the clear sparkling sea, the palm trees, the amazing food… everything was perfect. Enjoy some of my favorite iPhone captures below!

San Juan, Puerto Rico vacation by photographer Avery Carter DBA Always Avery Photography Those were the hotel views!! Like, are you kidding?!

This view… breathtaking!

I could have stayed in this spot all day!

This hotel balcony was everything. I would enjoy afternoon breaks there and just soak everything in.

Weirdly thrilled by this coconut I found on the ground…the things that excite you when you live in the Philly suburbs and haven’t seen a beach in 84 years, LOL.
Quite LITERALLY obsessed with Viejo San Juan. When I go back, this is where I’m staying!
I was blessed to have stayed for four full days in paradise. I spent my last day enjoying the beautiful beaches and fruity drinks, wishing I never had to leave!

Until next time, San Juan! I miss you already. Cheers!
