Jepson Alumni Executive Center Wedding | Mariah & Matt

I have had the pleasure of knowing Matt since 2019 when his mother hired me to capture his senior university portraits. Little did Matt know that four years later, he’d be getting married on the same university grounds for his Jepson Alumni Executive Center wedding. Follow along as I share highlights from Mariah & Matt’s wedding day!

Virginia Wedding Venue

It was the perfect Spring day in April for Mariah and Matt’s Jepson Alumni Executive Center wedding. It had rained in the days leading up to the wedding, but we lucked out with beautiful weather for their celebrations.

The couple chose to have their wedding at this unique Virginia wedding venue as it held sentimental meaning and was undeniably a special place for their relationship. Mariah and Matt first met and spent the majority of their first two years together on the University of Mary Washington campus. These science enthusiasts had spent hundreds of hours of study dates in the university’s labs, classrooms, and libraries. With this in mind, they decided to return to where it all started to begin the next chapter of their lives.

Wedding Ceremony

Before their ceremony, Mariah and Matt shared a first look and exchanged private vows on the porch of the center. It was such an intimate and beautiful moment between the two love birds.

Their Jepson Alumni Executive Center wedding ceremony was a blend of the traditions that make them who they are, from being married by a Baptist pastor and reading verses from the Bible to reciting the Jewish seven blessings, being married under a chuppah, and breaking the glass after their first kiss. It was important to the couple that they honored both of their families traditions, as they united as one.

Jepson Alumni Executive Center Wedding Reception

Matt & Mariah’s Jepson Alumni Executive Center wedding reception was filled with some surprises for the guests. First, the newlyweds surprised loved ones with a choreographed first dance to a romantic cover of Paramore’s “Still Into You,” a song that encapsulates the many years already spent loving one another.

Later during the reception, the couple surprised guests with a performance by Panamanian Cultural Dancers. It was such a fun and captivating performance that paid a beautiful tribute to Matt’s family’s heritage.

Before opening the dance floor, the newlyweds shared an “anniversary dance” with their guests, in which all married couples were invited to the dance floor during the dance. It was such a beautiful and inspiring moment to witness as the last couple on the dance floor had been married for over 50 years.

This light-hearted and loving couple was an absolute joy to work with! I could truly see the great depths of love shared between these two college sweethearts, it was so inspiring! If you are looking for someone to capture your love story in a timeless manner, I’d love to hear from you! Check out my wedding page for more on what it’s like to work with me!
