Longwood Gardens Engagement Session

The summer of 2022 was one of my busiest seasons to date. It was a whirlwind of love, travel, and incredible couples! One of which was Sarah and Steve. The two reached out for me to photograph their Longwood Gardens engagement session and Springfield Country Club wedding in 2023.

I always love meeting my couples for the first time! As soon as I greeted Sarah and Steve, we immediately hit it off, and it felt like they were old friends that I’d known for years. I actually captured Sarah’s cousin Andy’s proposal, engagement photos, and wedding, so I was thrilled to be welcomed back into their family. I love it when clients turn into friends! Andy and his wife Emilie, and now Sarah and Steve, have become just that — dear friends.

Engagement Session At Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square

Sarah and Steve chose to have their engagement session at one of my favorite photoshoot locations, Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. It was the perfect location for a romantic garden vibe.

On the day of their shoot, the forecast called for scattered storms. Steve, a newly self-proclaimed meteorologist, tracked the storm throughout the day. In the end, the couple decided to go ahead with their Longwood Gardens engagement session, and I am so glad we did! Their images turned out beautifully. It wasn’t until the end of their romantic, garden-inspired engagement session that it started to drizzle and then totally POURED. Even though we got completely soaked, we were grateful that the rain held off for most of the day. Running out of the gardens through the storm with Sarah and Steve is now a fond, distant memory — hahaha!

I also have to mention that Steve wore his grandfather’s cufflinks for their engagement photos, which he plans to wear on the wedding day, too. I love that he chose to incorporate this sentimental item into their session. During the shoot, these two had the biggest beaming smiles, and you could sense their deep love for one another. I simply cannot wait for their Springfield Country Club wedding in 2023!
