Danielle and Dominic’s engagement session was as unique as their love story! We mixed a combination of in-studio portraits with outdoor photos in the quaint streets of Media, PA, and the results were to die for! I can’t wait to share with you some highlights from this fun Delaware County engagement session.
Their Love Story
Like many modern couples, Danielle & Dominic met on a dating app. Their love story took off with one simple swipe right and drinks in the city!
The Proposal
As a true romantic at heart, it’s no surprise that I love a good proposal story, and Danielle and Dominic’s engagement is one for the books. After being stuck on a boat in the pouring rain miles and miles away from their shore house, Dom caught Danielle completely off guard with a proposal. Once they arrived at their dock, Dom dropped down to one knee and asked Danielle to marry him. It’s safe to say Danielle was shocked!
One of the best parts of their proposal story is that they caught it all on camera! You have to check out a video of the proposal here! I have to admit I’ve watched it at least a hundred times. I can’t help but smile (and cry) when I see Danielle’s sobs of disbelief turn into squeals of joy. As she jumps into Dom’s arms while one of their favorite songs blares in the background, my heart just melts!
The Delaware County Engagement Session
As it is generally freezing cold in the Philadelphia suburbs in late November, this sweet couple came up with a unique idea to do a studio session with a mix of outdoor and indoor photos in Media, PA.
Danielle is the owner of a hair salon called Luxe Styles Media and decided to set up a backdrop in her salon for the studio portion of our photoshoot. She wanted a warm and intimate studio session that would be lighthearted and fun with a slightly sultry touch. Danielle and Dom knew exactly what they wanted and requested romantic, classic black & white portraits that would set the tone for their upcoming timeless wedding celebration.
During The Session
For the engagement shoot, Danielle opted for two different looks — one chic with pants and a blazer, and the other more romantic with a dress. The neutral-toned outfits were the perfect choice for the contrasting black-and-white portraits and also popped in the natural light outside. After some time indoors, we stepped out onto the quaint downtown street of Media, PA for a few images in natural light.
We then returned inside for shots in a second outfit, where Danielle changed into a lovely white dress. Finally, to end their Deleware County engagement session, we headed to the local courthouse, where the two popped a bottle of champagne.
I absolutely adored the charming little town of Media, PA, and would love to return for a full session in warmer weather! The town has stunning historic architecture like white marble columns, tall windows, and lamp posts. It reminds me of some of the most popular Philadelphia engagement session locations, but without the hassle of going into the city!
It was such a blast to work with Danielle & Dominic for their unique engagement session! I cannot wait until their Renault Winery Wedding! I already know they’re going to bring the party and be such a lively group, not to mention how beautiful all the details will be!
P.S. If you’re looking for on or off-site hair and makeup for your wedding, Danielle and her bridal glam team (based in PA/NJ/DE) will take excellent care of you! While I’m thrilled to have Danielle as my bride, don’t you think we’d make a wedding day dream team working together?!
