I absolutely adore the holidays, and Christmas is my all-time favorite! So when Paige and Ryan approached me to be a part of their Christmas-themed wedding, I could not resist! It is so wonderful to find a couple that enjoys the holidays as much as I do, and when paired with their winter wedding, it is all the better!
Christmas Themed Wedding Day Details
For their Christmas-themed wedding, Paige and Ryan went with a classic Christmas design with lots of emerald green, red, and gold incorporated throughout the day.
The celebration started with the wedding party enjoying a slow morning getting ready. In the bridal suite, Paige and her bridesmaids wore monogrammed Christmas pajamas which were so fun and festive for the season. While the wedding party was getting ready, I captured some images of the couple’s personal items and gorgeous emerald velvet details.
To honor Paige’s grandfathers who had passed, her bridal bouquet was adorned with memory charms featuring pictures of them. It was the perfect sentimental touch to this special occasion.
The Wedding Day
With winter weddings, the sun sets earlier in the day, so Paige and Ryan opted for an intimate first look in the afternoon to catch the daylight. During their first look, the couple privately exchanged their heartfelt personally-written vows; the moment was so beautiful and emotional.
Afterward, we strolled around the venue to capture couples’ portraits, including some romantic shots on the foggy golf course. Once we completed their couples’ photos, the full wedding party joined us, and we took fun wedding party photos while there was still gorgeous daylight.
Ceremony
Paige and Ryan included many unique elements in their Christmas-themed wedding. One of which was that they decided to have their ceremony at dusk to resemble the magic and awe felt on Christmas Eve. It was so different and memorable for both myself and the guests! While you may know of “golden hour,” this ceremony took place during “blue hour” just after the sun set below the horizon. Paige and Ryan said “I do” surrounded by twinkling fairy lights and sparkling candles, which set the perfect romantic and intimate tone for the rest of the evening.
Reception
Though it was a chilly December evening, the warm and intimate atmosphere continued as guests entered the reception space. The ballroom felt straight out of a Hallmark movie, with a cozy garland draping the fireplace and subtle Christmas wedding decorations.
During the reception, the newlyweds asked their guests to contribute to their unique guest book. Paige and Ryan had Christmas wedding ornaments made of acrylic for their loved ones to sign. Imagining these two dancing around while decorating their tree for many holiday seasons to come with these very ornaments paints a picture of everlasting Christmas magic and truly warms my heart.
The night concluded with two of the best things — dancing and desserts! Even Paige’s grandma got down on the dance floor! After Paige and Ryan cut their wedding cake, the guests were served the most beautiful plated desserts! They looked almost too amazing to eat!
It was an absolute joy working with Paige and Ryan on their Christmas-themed wedding in Pennsylvania. If you’re searching for a Pennsylvania wedding photographer to help capture the magic of your love story, I’d be honored to help! Please feel free to reach out and share your love story and unique wedding plans with me! As you can tell, I love love!
