My last post was about a magical Christmas-themed wedding which I absolutely adored. In contrast, Macy and Mike wanted very subtle winter vibes for their late December celebration. So, they opted for a romantic Philadelphia Cricket Club wedding with elegant details and a navy and gray design with an abundance of gorgeous greenery.
A Golf-Infused Love Story
Macy & Mike met while working at Philadelphia Cricket Club; Mike was the Head Golf Pro, and Macy was the Digital Marketing Manager. Little did they know, the place where they met would be where Mike would propose, and they would later wed. A location doesn’t get much more special than that!
With their love story centrally focused around golf and the club, it was only fitting that the couple included nods to their love of golf throughout their wedding day.
Mike and his groomsmen’s boutonnieres included golf tees from their wedding venue, Philadelphia Cricket Club. The guys wore matching socks that featured a US map with a flagstick marking the hole at Philadelphia.
In the reception space, instead of table numbers, the tables were labeled with the names of golf clubs around the US and included framed watercolor prints of their respective courses. The bars served Transfusions, a popular golf-course cocktail, and the groom’s cake was a green Master’s jacket featuring the Master’s logo.
Philadelphia Cricket Club Wedding Day Details
Their wedding day started with an intimate first look at the club. The first look took place in a specific room of the venue which Macy had her eye on from her time working there. Then, after some portraits around the venue, we drove to a nearby street that Macy would drive daily on her way to work. She said she had always wanted photos in these two locations – after all, she had worked at the venue and dreamed of this day, envisioning all the details for years!
The Ceremony
Macy and Mike had a short but sweet tented wedding ceremony after dusk with only their wedding party and immediate family in attendance. Once the ceremony had ended, it was dark, so the newlyweds had a sparkler exit for the ceremony. It was absolutely magical!
The Reception
Macy and Mike snuck off during cocktail hour to do a room reveal of the ballroom. During this time, the two were able to share a romantic and private first dance in the intimate space.
After the ceremony, additional friends and family arrived for cocktail hour and a night of celebrating and dancing the night away.
Upon entering the cricket club ballroom, guests were welcomed by a beautiful seating chart with miniature floral arrangements, which they were encouraged to bring to their tables. It was such a beautiful and fun way to display their seating chart and get guests interacting.
Macy shares a special bond with her grandparents, who would be celebrating their wedding anniversary the day after Macy & Mike’s wedding celebration. With this being said, it was so touching when Macy’s grandfather surprised everyone by giving a sentimental speech and singing a song that left everyone in tears. There was not a dry eye in the room!
It was such an incredible whirlwind to capture Macy and Mike at their Philadelphia Cricket Club wedding, considering the couple only hired me less than 90 days before their wedding date. I’m so glad they did and that I was available because Macy has become such a dear friend since then. If you are looking for your next bestie to be there for you on your wedding day and capture timeless moments that will be passed down for generations, you are in the right place!
